I love your site. Today I went down a wikipedia rabbit hole and discovered the songs of Will Jennings. Made me think that a Any Major Jennings would be right up your alley! (Maybe even add some Waylon Jennings to confuse folks)
I tried to download The Bacharach/David Songbook Vol. 2. I received a virus warning from my computer. I tried both sources and received the same warning. This is the first time that has ever happened to me from your website. Just wanted to let you know.
I was checking out Any Major Dude With Half A Heart (which is very cool!) and thought you might be interested in the best 1,000 albums ever project, which is rocketing toward the halfway point with almost 500 blog posts released and counting!
Thank you so much for your product of passion. I know personally how much time and effort can go into making a search and collection of custom material. A labor of LOVE. Thanks for sharing and allowing me to access songs that I wouldnt be able to
Also BTW can you update the Beatles covers 3 vol set?
As well as the originals page Such great history!
I saw some wonderful albums under the category ‘Any Major Soul…’ but all of them from Vol23 and earlier are no longer available as Zippyshare is defunct and they are not found on Rapidgator either. Are there any plans to make them available on Mega at all? Similarly there are many others which are no longer available…. :-(
Cool website! I came across your blog on another music blog site. Wondering, would you be interested in including my old all female pop band? We professionally recorded 14 songs over 2 decades ago, but broke up and the songs languished on reel tapes. Fans who traded underground mix tapes begged us to crowdsource the album, and after a successful kickstarter we were able to digitize, mix, master & release it last month.
I see you include a song by Lea roberts laughter in the rain, I have searched everywhere to buy or get a copy on cd or any other medium, how did you get a copy if you don’t mind telling me. Thanks so much
Dear Dude,
I am stunned about your widespread knowledge… this is so fascinating! I mean, everyone got to know that Jane Birkin has died – but how do you get reliable information of all the guys from any far out countries have died I haven’t even HEARD of!! And I live in a jukebox! And how will you know who worked as a background singer or head technician or producer?
(When I listened to an older “In Memoriam”, there was “Englishman in New York” – and I shrugged “Sting has died?” but it was “only” an Oz guy who was working as a background singer…
And the access to all this widespread stuff. On another compilation there was “In the ghetto” by Elvis. Heard that a thousand times – pretty soon it came to my mind that it was duet with Lisa Marie I did not know even existed! Heartwarming.
Dude, I know a lot, I think (subscriber of the German Rolling Stone from the beginning on!), but it seems to be a tiny bit compared to you…
Keep up this good work, I will listen (and there will be another coffee soon!).
Do you know or have come across sheet music to the Aretha Franklin feat. Michael McDonald song-Everchanging Times ? I’ve looked everywhere, I mean everywhere,
With respect to the “Telephone” songs, I have a couple of potential ideas for the next mix: New Edition’s “Mr Telephone Man” and “Operator” by Midnight Star. Both are mid-Eighties songs.
Tach,
I downloaded several “In Memoriams” and could not open the archives for May to October 2023.
Older archives are fine.
All are downloaded from Mega using Windows 11 and Linux Mint. On both systems they were flagged as corrupt.
Hey dude, it’s been awhile since I’ve had time to lurk around the web and just really enjoy revisiting your site.
I am going on a nostalgia kick so enjoyed your forays into 70s soul and disco. When I went to the funk mixes, alas they are no more. Can you rectify that kind sir.
I have been searching on your site for Tom Waits – and it happens that he is turning 75 this year (well, quite a while ago…).
Maybe this could be an inspiration for future works – I might add some ideas for cover versions.
He’s definitely on the list. Awkward timing, when everybody wants Xmas mixes, but I made it work with Keef’s 80th in December. I’ll be happy to have your ideas.
Hast Du eine Adresse, auf welcher ich Dich direkt kontaktieren kann?

Thank you for your continued posts. Might you consider re-upping either of these two of your past Beatles creations?

Thank you.

I came across your website while diving deep into the web annals of Dan, and I really enjoy your style of writing and your thoughts.
We have a song coming out next friday called New Meaning, and I’d really love your honest review of it. We’ve worked hard on this one and I’m pretty proud of it. Here is a link to the song on drive.
Is there a change to make a link list for ALL In Memoriam files so I can get them again. Seems I have a few gaps and some archives are damaged on my harddisk. Thank you in advance :)
Sorry, Norbert, these collections are massive and take up a lot of space on my hard-drive and storage. Many of them I have deleted, keeping only tracks that I liked. I could upload more recent ones, if you tell me which one you need.
Would you take a guest posting (or at least consider one)? No worries if not, but I’ve got a piece brewing that I have no home for and since it’s looking at forty or so versions of the same song, I think it would fit your Song Swarm series if you’d be up for it.
Hello,
Concerning The Beatles in Spanish: Dino was an Italian singer and “Torna con me sulla luna” is not sung in Spanish…
When I try to download Any Major Flute Vol. 1, I am directed to Vol. 2.
I liked the others, so I suppose the first was the best one ?
Thank You !
I’ve been putting together a playlist of songs in my head lately, and I thought maybe I’d mention it here because you could probably bring it to fruition. It’s songs that mention The Beatles in some way, shape or form, but aren’t really about them. First one I got was The Mills Brothers (or The Mamas And The Papas) doing I Dig Rock N Roll Music, then I came up with The Temptations doing Ball Of Confusion. I had a few more, but they’re not coming to mind right now, but there have to be hundreds of songs out there that mention ’em. (I can hear one in my head but can’t name the song or the artist right now, just a mention of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band… It’s frustrating that I can’t sing any more of it than that.) You get the idea, what do you think?
An interesting concept. I have a reference to John & Yoko farming beef inside the Dakota in Tim Curry’s “I Do The Rock”, but that’s post-Beatles. And Lennon himself not believing in The Beatles.
@amdwhah I knew you were the man for the job! The Sgt. Pepper song I was thinking of is Summer Rain by Johnny Rivers. And I thought of a good title, “The Beatles In Passing”. :)
My name is Jeff Griswold with the St. Louis-based Americana Rock band, The Vondrukes. I enjoy using AMDWHAH as a resource for discovering new music, and I thought I’d reach out with some new music myself.
The Vondrukes have been together since 2010 and will be independently releasing our 4th album “Too Many Monsters” on November 1, 2024. We would be honored if you’d give it a listen and let us know what you think. Below you’ll find a pre-release promo link where you can stream or download the full album. If there is anything further we can do, we’d love to help.
Your blog is awesome, I do appreciate the work you put in your blog.
I was wondering if you could please re-up Any Major Woodstock; Any Major Southern Rock Vol. 1 and Any Major Protest Soul Vol. 3, the links zippyshare and rapidgator don’t work anymore
a belated thank you for the links renewal on the Woodstock and Southern Rock posts – b.t.w. is it possible to re-up the History of Country series; Beatles – Album tracks and B-Sides Vol. 1 & 2; The Beatles – Alone (1972); The Beatles – Alone Again (1975) and The Beatles – Finally (1981).
I don’t want to be greedy but I really appreciate your work on this blog!
Thanks in advance.
Hello. I’ve been reading your blog for many years & often post links to IN MEMORIAM on Twitter & Instagram as well as a few other places. I’m a big fan. As a blogger myself I know you have to do what’s best for you, but I want you to know I would surely miss these outstanding posts. In fact, it’s the main reason I read your blog. Is there anything I can do to help you relieve the burden? Is there research I can do for you? If not – and this is just my opinion – I’d rather you give up some of your other features and keep In Memoriam goin, but it’s possible you don’t feel that way. Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the kind words.

I think you are referring to the Covered With Soul series. I will soon post the whole collection in one go.

Danke für die netten Worte, Karsten. Well, a bit of knowledge has to be there, but much of it is just a lot of painstaking research.
Hi, could you update the links to Any Major Disco please as the current links do not work.
Kind regards
All Any Major Disco links are up again.
Can you do session collection of Nicky Hopkins
Hi There,
Do you know or have come across sheet music to the Aretha Franklin feat. Michael McDonald song-Everchanging Times ? I’ve looked everywhere, I mean everywhere,
He’d have turned 80 next February. That would be a good occasion.
I have no idea, sorry. The original was by Siedah Garrett; maybe that might help track down the sheet music. Gorgeous song.
With respect to the “Telephone” songs, I have a couple of potential ideas for the next mix: New Edition’s “Mr Telephone Man” and “Operator” by Midnight Star. Both are mid-Eighties songs.

That is very strange. They open fine on my side. I have no explanation.

Greetings! May I mention my humorous rock/pop song, “It’s Too Early to Celebrate Christmas”? Hip Christmas and Bells Will Be Ringing websites have mentioned this song recently. Hope you can give it a listen. Thanks. https://tomxchao.bandcamp.com/track/it-s-too-early-to-celebrate-christmas
I’ve redone and extended the “Alone” mixes as reimagined Beatles albums:

Live ’72 (1972): http://www.halfhearteddude.com/2015/09/beatles-reunited-and-live/

The Album tracks and B-Sides mixes have been lost. I might rebuild them one day.
I’ll re-up the History of Country series when I have some time. There’s a lot of tidying up to do.
