Here is the third New York City mix (or fourth if you include the New York in Black & White, as you should). This one includes a couple of obvious choices, but one of those in a rather good splendid version, plus a few lesser-known numbers.

1. Conor Oberst – NYC – Gone, Gone (2008)
2. Lou Reed – NYC Man (1996)
3. Steely Dan – Daddy Don’t Live In That New York City No More (1975)
4. Chicago – Saturday In The Park (1972)
5. Candi Staton – Nights On Broadway (1977)
6. Bob & Earl – Harlem Shuffle (1963)
7. Brecker Brothers – East River (1978)
8. Billy Joel – Miami 2017 (Seen The Lights Go Out On Broadway) (1981)
9. A-ha – Manhattan Skyline (1987)

11. The Avett Brothers – Famous Flower Of Manhattan (2006)
12. The Statler Brothers – New York City (1970)
13. Steeleye Span feat. Peter Sellers – New York Girls (1975)
14. Belle & Sebastian – Piazza, New York Catcher (2003)

Great list. If you ever find yourself resorting to “Angel of Harlem” to fill the mix, you’ll know it’s time to stop.

Funny enough, Angel Of Harlem is one of the few U2 songs I still like a lot.

Great mixes. I was going to mention New York State of Mind (one of my favorite Billy Joel songs) but then I saw it was in the volume 2 of the mix

Great selection as always! Do you know “New York City Is A Lonely Town” by Dick Jensen? Is a very mellow one, a rare pop-soul track from the Philly Intl. catalogue by an underrated blue-eyed soul artist.

Thank you very much for the music, this represents a lot of work and a lot of care. I’m only able to acdess 2, 3 and b&w, is there a chance you might re-up the others? Again, thank you.
