Any Major Awards 2007 – Nominations

December 13th, 2007 Leave a comment Go to comments

Unlike The Grammies, which in March 2008 will celebrate the (probably most objectionable) music of 2006, this blog wastes no time in honouring the Best of 2007. My vote (although they’re not on your lists!) for best country album of the year would be Sam Baker – Pretty World; and for female singer-songwriter probably Jesca Hoop – Kismet.

A few short thoughts that crossed my mind.I was glad to see your mention of Steve Earle’s new CD. Other than one song performed on Letterman…(and I liked it alot)…hearing Steve on the radio anymore is a rare thing. That’s sad.I just had the opportunity to listen to a few songs by Elvis Perkins. (and I am aware he is the son of Anthony). And I was quite surprised how much I enjoyed him. I’ve asked for his CD for Xmas.Your voting…”widget?”…is really a neat feature. Looks really nice, too. Finally, your music blog is excellent and easily should be listed among the rest. A lot of work you’ve put in!Props! And a Merry Christmas.
